I have to believe that I'm not the only one who heard about the mass stabbing in Texas and thought, "Oh great, now they're going to come for our cutlery."

I'm just waiting for the first story telling how this maniac bought his knife at an unregulated knife show where there was no background check and no waiting period before he could take his knife home, or that he failed to register the knife with his local sheriff, or something insane like that.

I find it totally unconscionable that our rulers elected representatives have yet to propose a new raft of knife regulations. Don't they care? What about the children?

Now that the Obama campaign is in full swing - despite not having a particular Republican opponent yet - the president is letting his Vice Gaffer out without a short leash (or should it be a short bus?) to make policy proclamations that the Pres himself couldn't get away with and still have any hope of reelection but this fool can - and does - say whatever comes into his "mind" and gets away with it like he's your crazy and/or drunk uncle at a family reunion spouting his aliens are in the government telling us all what to do crap only this time he's the bizarre alien telling us what to do instead.

Now vice president Biden thinks we need a global tax because it's not enough that people get taxed by their own nation, they should be taxed by the one world government   League of Nations United Nations or whatever cabal or group he thinks is best these days.

I know sovereignty is hard to spell, Uncle Joe, but the concept isn't really that difficult, is it? I'm sure there must be someone in DC who knows what it means - please, try to get a clue, OK?

Biden was speaking to a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, when he turned to praise the work of Richard M. Daley, the city’s former mayor of over 20 years.

“I never had an interest in being a mayor, ’cause that’s a real job. You have to produce,” Biden said, according to a White House pool report. “That’s why I was able to be a senator for 36 years.”

Maybe Their Minds Are Occupied

Here's the latest bunch of idiocy from the nation's capital.
Thanks to the top-drawer cleanliness and public hygiene practices by the 0ccupiers, there's a huge rat infestation - and I don't mean the human variety, I'm talking Rattus Norvegicus, our good friend the plain old brown rat - that threatens the public health.
 
In the typical turn common-sense on its head tradition of these bozos (and let me apologize to the real Bozo who wasn't a bozo in the lower case sense at all, may he rest in peace), the fear of PETA has been put into the DC administration so they're not going to do any trapping or poisoning or anything that might help to get rid of these vermin; instead they're possibly going to do a bit of live trapping and then release them somewhere else so they're someone else's problem instead of theirs, but rats are pretty good at finding their original location so they're going to get a bunch of them back there in DC anyway and then they'll find out that these nasty little buggers carry lepto and rabies and all those other good things that took out Raccoon City in those games and movies.

OK, that last bit is just my hyperbole acting up, but my meds are kicking in and the rest of it is true - just wait until no-animal-product-wearing former hippies and hippie wannabes find out that their little dogs are all dying of leptospirosis because the breeders wouldn't let them be vaccinated for it and their PETA friends have made sure that the rats are protected so their dogs aren't: "What, you mean I've picked a rat over Fifi?" That's right, you moron, you picked a pest over your pet! And then you're going to find that these nasty critters are a nice vector for rabies, and it's not just your pets that can get that - and they are probably vaccinated anyway - but your kids who want to play with that nice brown animal in the park are going to find out that people can get rabies just as much as dogs and cats and rats and everything.

Yeah, it's all fun and games until somebody starts getting shots in the gut to take care of a rat bite.

What a bunch of dopes.

I'm finding it easier to believe fiction than the current news these days. It looks to me like our fearless leaders in Washington have lost their political minds as they try to appease address all of their various competing constituencies.
This particular example, and maybe I should call it schizophrenia instead of saying they've lost their minds but I don't think it really matters all that much since I'm not a shrink so I'm not really making a diagnosis, just an observation of how it looks to me these days, is that the White House is backpedaling on the idea of giving away 300K work permits to undocumented workers illegal aliens in their back-alley amnesty program of only deporting the illegals who might vote Republican (or whatever their criterion is).
 
Somehow, someone has suddenly figured out that with over 9% unemployment, the laid-off union guys who would normally vote for the Democrats might be upset to see a bunch of work permits go to Mexicans or Canadians or whoever is sneaking across the border these days so they can undercut the unions' wage levels and keep those guys out of work.
This could have turned out to be the straw that turns the camel's stomach and actually loses the Dems some votes from the dependent class, but since 9% unemployment is a whole bunch more votes than 300K supposedly non-voting non-citizens, even these bozos seem like they figured out they'd be cutting off their votes to spike the punch, or however that old saw goes.

I guess I'm glad they seem to be dropping this idea, but it's pretty scary to think that these guys were dumb enough to think it was a good idea in the first place. Maybe they're the inmates who are running the asylum? Maybe we really are all bozos on this bus.
