Why Is Anyone Surprised?

I don't know about you - OK, I probably really do know about you, but let's leave that for another post, shall we? - right, I don't know about you, but I'm totally stunned and amazed that other people who should know better are stunned and amazed that Huawei and ZTE might not be good guys just selling knockoff products cheaper than we can make them here in the USA or even in Japan or Mexico or something.

Why is it a surprise to think that the Chinese government is using the companies they control to get access to the computer systems of other countries' companies? Isn't that exactly what all the tracking of hacking has told us? that it's all coming from China or Russia or Iran? Good grief, folks, use your brains once in a while instead of just your credit cards. Remember when we used to say that you get what you pay for? Now you're finding out what that might mean in an interconnected, always-on, internet-dependent society, and it means that the ones who sell you something for less than it's worth are probably making up for that apparent loss somewhere else - not like the old "we lose a little bit on each sale, but we make up for it with volume" kind of scam; this is more like the we'll sell you a magazine for less than it costs us to make because you have to take some advertising in there along with the "articles" and such, only where you didn't know the ads were going to borrow your computer to dig up your personal details for auction on the open black market or steal your company's plans and designs to make it easier to create knockoffs and counterfeits of your products before you can get them out the door and for less money because they're going to do the same thing to the next suckers who become customers.

Get a grip on reality and realize that Chinese companies may be owned by those rich Chinese guys you deal with, but those guys and the companies and their customers are pwned by the Chinese government, and that's the way they play the game, bub!

If you don't want to look like a total chump, you'd better wake up and smell the oolong tea and start buying equipment from reputable manufacturers who don't have a business model of sell stuff to chumps for less than its worth, but steal everything that's not nailed down to turn a profit for your commie masters.

Sheesh!

Digging For Hoffa? Not Likely!

UPDATED!
We're still waiting for confirmation that what was found was not extraterrestrial, but what we do know is that Michigan State University anthropologists found no traces of human DNA or bone fragments in soil samples taken from a driveway in a suburban Detroit backyard.
  1. Police in the Detroit, Michigan area are digging up "remains" under a residential driveway based on the claim that Jimmy Hoffa was buried there in 1975.
  2. Apparently someone just came forward to say he remembered seeing a body being buried there then and a driveway was poured on top of the grave.
  3. Many other sites have been excavated in recent years for just the same purported reason.
How reasonable is it to believe that someone has suddenly remembered something as huge as seeing a body being buried in a residential area -  over 35 years later?
Hoffa's body has been reported in at least as many places as the live Elvis has been sighted.

When will the authorities release the results of the tests done on the soil samples?
Why don't they explicitly rule out the possibility that they didn't merely not find Hoffa, but that they did find something else?
When will they come clean about the possibility that it was actually non-human remains that they have found - and not merely animals, but rather extra-terrestrials?

Our rulers have no faith in the ability of the populace to handle the thought that we are not alone in this universe, and they do everything in their power to keep us in the dark.

We'll continue to monitor this situation, and report back when we have more information.

Eleven Years and a Day

You probably saw my post yesterday, and then you probably saw the news reports of the violence at the various US embassies and consulates across jihadistan.

Rather than ramble on here until I froth at the mouth like a rabid dog - which our State Department would consider a hate crime, since our friends are offended by the sight or thought of dogs - I'm just going to encourage you to go watch that video linked in yesterday's post.

Good grief, the world has gone mad.

Eleven Years On

No long screed today, just a plea to remember who it was who killed all the Americans (and others) in the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center eleven years ago.

An interesting and informative survey of 1,400 years of history can be found here - Why We Are Afraid: A 1400-Year Secret - it's worth watching or reading the transcript.

NASA, Mars, and Nazca Lines

  1. NASA has released purported images of the tire tracks of the Curiosity Rover on Mars.
  2. These pattern created by these lines would only be visible from space.
  3. NASA is claiming that the lines contain embedded Morse Code, reading JPL.
The images posted by NASA look remarkably like the Nazca lines found in South America, but NASA makes no comment acknowledging this obvious connection. It is difficult to believe that even they have not noted the similarity in the lines, as well as in the names! (NASA : Nazca)

By claiming to have embedded additional information in the lines, NASA raises the question as to whether similar information might be embedded in the Nazca lines - yet they clearly have no intention of investigating that question (or if they do, it would appear that they would intend to keep the results of that investigation to themselves).

When will NASA - a part of the US federal government, and thus purportedly accountable to the people - release this important information to the public?
Why do they insist on keeping this potentially Earth-shaking revelation from the general populace?
When will they release data regarding the levels of radioactivity of the Nazca lines?

We'll report back here as more information becomes available.

Oh, that was choice!

First lady Michelle 0bama was the main speaker at the democrat convention on Tuesday and the reviews seem fairly uniformly positive for her trip down memory lane.

Oh yes, she has now assured us that she and the president are just normal folks - they came from families with little money, owed far too much on their student loans when the graduated: young, foolish, and in debt - or words to that effect.

(I wonder if anyone noticed the similar state of our new people's republic: young, foolish, and in debt - but I digress.)

The topic that really caught my attention and in my craw was the touting of national health care as being about choice for women or some such lunacy.
"Hey, we're women, we're adults, and we can make our own choices about our own health care! That's what my husband has done for us! Go team!"
Good grief - doesn't anyone think anymore? I don't mean just at the democrat convention, either: why hasn't there been a huge chorus of folks explaining that being forced to buy insurance from approved companies who are told exactly what they can offer for sale isn't exactly the same as making choices about our own health care? Am I the only one who can't hold this many contradictory clauses in the air while smiling seraphically as if I really believed at least some of the crockery that's going to break when it finally hits the floor or the fan?

What in the world is wrong with Americans these days? Have schools been so bad so long that no one here can think his way out of a paper bag or a government program?!

I'm getting close to the point where I'll despair for these once-great United States of America.

IPv6 Is Back!!!

You know how I've been warning you about how IPv6 will give governments nearly complete information on what and where you're doing what you're doing and now some of the other industry bigwigs and big thinkers are finally agreeing with me that this is all a bad idea and probably really coming from the same friendly folks who bring you black helicopters and try to regulate the amount of aluminum foil an unlicensed individual can buy without a prescription and all that sort of Big Brother-y kind of stuff; and I don't mean that crappy pseudo-reality TV stuff either, I'm talking full on 1984 George Orwell newspeak and everything.

Check this out, people - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08/21/verity_stob_ipv6/ - here's a real-life adventure in the near future that will give you a sniff of what's to come if we don't find our way to actually just get IPv5. Whatever happened to IPv5, anyway? Why doesn't anyone know about that, I wonder - and you should too, Bub, if you know what's good for you anyway, since it's probably our best shot at getting more address space without all the extras that the tinhorn dictators and strong-man wannabes are working so hard to shove down our bandwidth.

Wake up before it's too late, world!

Rabies Resistant Peruvian Mutants?

  • Six Peruvians have survived - without treatment - the bite of rabid vampire bats.
  • They live in remote villages far from civilization along the Amazon, where locals endure frequent, typically deadly, vampire attacks.
  • Medical researchers agree that an untreated rabies infection in a human would be invariably fatal, that "nearly everyone who is found to be experiencing clinical symptoms of rabies dies"
While those in the know realize that vampire bats don't kill by draining the blood of their victims - they're far too small for that - they represent an important vector in the spread of rabies. In fact, the bats manage to lap up as much blood as they do by use of a factor in their saliva known as draculin which prevents the clotting and coagulation of the blood.

Until now, all medical experts were in agreement that rabies if left untreated is uniformly fatal. Were they wrong? Were they misleading us? Or ... has something different arisen in the Peruvian jungle?
Why has the Peruvian government not released DNA analyses of the survivors?
When will the Centers for Disease Control admit that the Peruvian Six carry a rabies-resistant mutation?
Which of the world's military organizations will be first to genetically enhance its soldiers with resistance to rabies - and then to develop similar mutations to protect against anthrax and other bio-weaponry?

We will report back here as we receive more information.

Color Me Bloviated

OK, no big, long, involved, well-reasoned post here this time.  Instead, here's a quick note about my current state of confusion.

So the other day, president 0bama says that nobody does it by himself - we're all where we are because of other people.
Of course, he always says there's no reason for us to worry about the people in his past - it's not like the people we associate with have anything to do with who we are; the implication being that we're all self-made individuals (or "folks" as he loves to call us when he's trying to be folksy).

Does he really think we're so stupid or so skilled that we can believe both of those things at the same time? Sorry, I guess that was a rhetorical question, and who needs rhetorical questions?

We're getting worse than we deserve these days.

El Dorado?

  1. When Cortes was conquistador-ing around Honduras, he was told about a city of gold where Quetzalcoatl was born, and where the citizens ate off plates made of gold.
  2. Although it was called the white city, or Cuidad Blanco, it resembles all the other native stories of cities of gold - El Dorado as it has come down to us.
  3. Archaeologists have - perhaps - found this fabled Cuidad Blanco in the middle of the Honduran jungle using LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging), also known as laser mapping.
  4. No one has actually been on-site as yet; all reports of the mythical city's being found rest on the reports of the laser mapping.
Clearly those in the know don't want us there. Scientists closely involved in this "discovery" are telling the media that this is how archaeology is done now - none of that boots-on-the-ground digging and finding kind of work as we all have seen in the Indiana Jones movies.
That kind of hard work is "old school, we've moved on from Indy. Sorry, Harrison Ford," according to an Egyptologist called Parcak.

The real questions, though, are
  • Why are no scientists being allowed on the ground at Cuidad Blanco?
  • Who has actually visited the site to gather the confirmation of the LiDAR maps?
  • How much of the ancient treasure has been looted by government thugs?
  • What other secrets have been uncovered there? When will they release the evidence of the extraterrestrial contact that we all know took place throughout the New World in pre-Columbian times?
We'll report back here as more information becomes available.

A Hole In Mars?!

  1. Scientists at NASA have found what they're calling a hole in Mars.
  2. There is a perfectly circular crater with a hole at the bottom leading to underground caves of undetermined size.
  3. This 35 meter hole leading to the 20 meter deep cavern is said to be a good candidate to contain Martian life.
What could have caused this hole in the surface? Could it be the remnant of an ancient weapon?
What kind of life do they anticipate finding down there? Are we being prepared for something they already know?
Why does our government continue to push out tantalizing tidbits like this, rather than coming clean and telling us what's actually out there?
Do they fear the reaction of the populace? Is this why the President has signed so many executive orders giving the government extraordinary powers - in case of emergency?

Mutant Monkey Flowers And Triffids

  1. A new species of monkey flower has been discovered on the bank of a stream in Scotland. It is the offspring of two foreign plant species which typically produce only sterile hybrids.
  2. Dr. Mario Vallejo-Marin of the University of Stirling has documented the first examples of these hybrid monkey flowers that actually show full fertility.
  3. Dr. Vallejo-Marin has named this species Mimulus peregrinus, a name which translates as 'the wanderer'.
Can anyone read these words - especially the name of this new species - and not be concerned for the future of Great Britain?
Fertile hybrids of alien species - in fact, a plant called the wanderer - can bode little but ill for the island nations of the UK.

When will the British government admit to its citizens that these "monkey flowers" pose a clear and present danger to them?
Will the British government be able to protect the vast numbers of visitors currently headed for their shores for the quadrennial Olympic games?

We'll monitor this species and this situation and report back here when there is more information. Until then, stocking up on sea water can't be a mistake.

A 5-sigma CERNtainty Level

  1. Scientists at the LHC at CERN have announced the near-certain detection of what appears to be a Higgs boson.
  2. An American team had announced that they had completely not ruled out the existence of the Higgs boson only days before the CERN team.
  3. The CERN scientists are quick to caution us all that these are preliminary results, and they want to go over the numbers and be sure of what they've done before the tell us they've really found it.
So what they're saying is that there's only a on in 3.5 millions chance that this is a statistical fluke. Of course, this is after about seven million experiments, so take that with the grain of NaCl that seems appropriate to your blood pressure.
Here we are, watching the Americans try to steal the thunder of what they expected CERN to announce by announcing that they hadn't ruled out the possibility of what CERN had told them to expect. That was followed by CERN announcing that they had probably seen what the American team hadn't at all ruled out by their experiments, but please don't hold us to anything yet - it's pretty likely we've seen something that's very much like what we're seeking, but until we've crossed every "7" and dotted every "i" we're not going to be pinned down.

It's basically what I expected - more science drama in the style of a British tabloid or perhaps that fabulous TV show, TMZ.

Five sigma? Bah.

Now It's A Tax?!?!

I'm afraid I have not words capable of expressing the disgust and dismay rattling back and forth in my brain at the utter chicanery practiced by all three branches of the federal government upon its constituents (which should read bosses, but seems to read as bank accounts these days).
"There is no way this can be construed as a tax," said our fearless leader, president 0bama.
"The individual mandate cannot stand under the commerce clause, but this is allowed as a tax," says our supreme court.

Good Lord, it's as though there is no understanding of the concept of limited government left in DC.

Throw them all out! A pox on all their houses! I despair for liberty and justice for any.

Successful SETI Experiment!

  1. SETI recently performed an experiment in the use of VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) for detecting extra-terrestrial life.
  2. Using this VLBI system, SETI examined 20 hours of observational data for a distant red dwarf star and its attendant planet(s) looking for evidence of artificially produced radio signals.
  3. SETI reports finding no such signals. SETI also reports that the experiment was a success.
In what sense is a failure to find what they sought a success?
When will SETI and their quasi-governmental overlords release the actual data - including the radio signals deemed not to be from extraterrestrial intelligences - for the rest of us to listen to?
When will SETI realize that we aren't all sheep and idiots - that we can tell the difference between success and failure?
What actual signals were received, and why aren't they telling us?

We'll continue to monitor the situation and report back when we have more information.

CERNs Them Right!

  1. Our friends at CERN have now confirmed that neutrinos don't achieve faster than light speeds.
  2. Their friends at a variety of other research organizations have also confirmed that fact.
  3. In fact, their friends have helped to identify some of the various problems with CERN's initial experiment which led to the assertion that they had seen Faster Than Light (FTL) neutrinos.
While this should be no real surprise to anyone who's been following the story, the most interesting part is yet to come. Having hoodwinked many of the major particle physics investigators into looking into this FTL neutrino question, the investigators at CERN have managed to give themselves a relatively uncrowded window in which to further their search for the Higgs boson.

We should expect some kind of announcement from CERN regarding either the finding of the Higgs or of their having excluded yet another energy range from its potential home.

When will the particle physics community learn not to take any announcements from CERN at face value? They've done nothing but spout red herrings for the past year or more, whether "sharing" the best places to look for the Higgs boson or telling us they've found it, but won't have confirmation for several months, or they've seen FTL neutrinos and need help figuring out what's actually going on, or any number of other things.

CERN Research Director Sergio Bertolucci said, in a press release, that ”Although this result isn’t as exciting as some would have liked, it is what we all expected deep down.
“The story captured the public imagination, and has given people the opportunity to see the scientific method in action – an unexpected result was put up for scrutiny, thoroughly investigated and resolved in part thanks to collaboration between normally competing experiments. That’s how science moves forward."

That's how science moves forward indeed - by pulling the proverbial wool over the eyes of competing investigators in order to grab the glory. Lobachevsky anyone?

Watch this space to see what's really been going on at CERN - it should be quite interesting!

Wisconsin And Tocqueville

You know, the way I always expect the worst of people and politicians (both of them, people AND politicians) you'd think that I would be used to being pleasantly surprised by the way things tend to turn out better than I had anticipated, but you'd be wrong because I am sadly correct far too often for my taste, so it was great to see that voters in Wisconsin actually voted in their own self interest rather than in the interest of their putative public servants who see themselves as a down-trodden ruling class. How's that for a bizarre self-concept? down-trodden rulers? Anyway, now that the stock market has expressed the economy's collective relief at the turning back of the thuggery, kleptocracy, and union-bossery I thought it was time to drag out that great quote from Alexis de Tocqueville that everyone knows, but that no one seems to believe anymore:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
Alexis de Tocqueville
I think that the vote in Wisconsin may actually have put a glimmer of hope in these jaded eyes of mine - not that I'm going to be looking at the world through rose-colored glasses or anything like that, but it may be that the voters there finally figured out whose largesse was being voted to whom and they realized that we're on the verge of running out of "them" as in "tax them to pay for whatever it is that I want for myself" and so it's time for people to start paying their own way rather than soaking the tax-target group du jour (take that, de Tocqueville!).

Sorry to sound a note of hope. I'll try not to make it a habit.

The Countdown To IPv6 Has Started!

Oh great, here we are already days into the end of the internet as we know it and no one seems to be worrying about how the oldsters running our country and all the other Big Brother wannabe types around the world are getting ready to track all of us all the time with more precision and persistence than Microsoft or Google would ever consider in their wildest gin-soaked dreams of advertising revenue avarice.

That's right, just this week, the biggies of the internet backbone switched on the IPv6 switches with no intention of switching them back off and they're calling for all of us to get with the program and be part of the connected generation and give them access to our logs and join the 1% of folks who are already doing this.

You may remember my warning about the unexpected uses that IPv6 will be put to by the governments of the world in tracking the activities and locations of regular citizens. In one of those, "Oh great, it's worse than I even thought and I thought I was already as cynical as I needed to be" moments, it looks like stopping all those PIPA and ACTA and other acronyms has only pushed them back to where they were in the first place - forcing everyone onto IPv6 with its powerful tracking and surveillance aspects intact and probably enhanced.

Of course, this is all also an attempt by the big switch manufacturers to manufacture demand for the stuff they make that nobody wants to buy because it costs more, makes security more difficult, disrupts all the processes and procedures that are already in place, and still seems unnecessary to most companies, let alone most IT staff and regular people who like to think that there's somewhere they can go even virtually where nobody knows you're a dog. The next step is probably to put IPv6 in the RFID chips that veterinarians put in dogs so the governments of the world will know when and where our dogs are near a wireless connection.

Won't someone think of the canines?!?!

Ages In Chaos?

  1. Astronomers are rethinking the history of Phoebe - a moon of Saturn - realizing that it was actually a rogue planetoid captured by Saturn from the Kuiper Belt.
  2. Its shape and chemistry confirm that it was not formed as the other Saturnine moons, but rather originated elsewhere, as does its retrograde orbit.
  3. Indications are that it had significant internal heat, likely generated by radioactive elements below its surface, which contributed to the moon's nearly spherical regularity.
What is it with these scientists? They go just far enough to let us know that something has happened that is different from anything they have previously admitted, but not far enough to admit that Velikovsky was right.

When will the scientific establishment tell us what we already know?
When will they admit that the Solar System was built with the effects of electrical attraction as well as gravitation?
When will they admit that they have been hiding the truth from us?

We'll report back with further information as we find it.

They Backed Down, But So What?

Good grief folks, you'd almost think the 0bama administration was actually on the side of the American family farm the way they're getting a pass on this "backdown" from outlawing chores for kids!
First off, they thought this was a good idea - they really did - it wasn't like they accidentally made a rule that surprised everyone by applying to kids on farms. These blowhards in DC really think they know how to raise kids on a farm better than the kids' own parents do.
Secondly, the retraction of the rules is done in conjunction with the development of a curriculum to be used in the government schools to train farm kids on how not to get hurt with equipment that won't be in the schools. Anyone care to guess how much of the "teaching" will be of the "your parents can't make you touch these dangerous machines that will likely kill or maim you, and they're evil and don't love you as much as the government does if they try to get you to do anything around the farm," as opposed to actual safety instruction? It seems like a pretty difficult thing to get a teacher to do, doesn't it? How are they going to train kids on how to safely use whatever particular stuff they have on their farm when there aren't any sample machines there at the school? That will be especially hard when you realize that they don't really have much time to spare for this kind of instruction when the time is already committed to learning the latest song in praise of our glorious leader president 0bama, how to put condoms on cucumbers and bananas, and which aggrieved group is most deserving of everyone else's money. I mean, there's not enough time to teach them how to read, add and subtract, that the Founding Fathers were actually a pretty smart bunch of dudes who knew better than to trust a powerful central government with any more power than is absolutely necessary, and that we have rights that were granted by our Creator, not by the feds (not even by the Constitution!).

Good grief, they're just going to go about it in an even sneakier way, so don't go giving them any credit for backing down - they haven't backed down any more than the roaches that scamper under the cabinets in the White House have backed down: they're just waiting until the lights go out again and we're not looking.

Mars and Water - Again!

  1. A recent paper published in Science indicates that Martian valleys may not have been cut by running water.
  2. The paper claims that features of the valleys are the result of lava flows under shear forces.
  3. These coils are similar to lava coils found on Earth - near the Galapagos Islands.
One of the mystifying aspects to this story is the complete lack of reference to earlier discoveries of gypsum on Mars, which is typically a very strong indication of the action of water.
In addition, the lava coils on Earth which are mentioned as being similar to those on Mars are found under water - in the Pacific Ocean, to be specific.
When will our governments stop trying to "protect" us from the truth?
When will they tell us what's really out there?
We'll report back as we get more information.

Martian Deception? Perhaps Not

My colleague, Listener 43, may have jumped the gun in posting his commentary on the discovery of life on Mars.
  1. He does note that this was based on a study of only one experiment, ignoring the data from two other contemporary experiments.
  2. He seems not to realize that this analysis runs counter to many others of the same data which found no evidence of life.
  3. While sampling technology has certainly advanced in the intervening years, the analysis of this data has noting to do with updated sampling, but rather only with new analyses of the same samples.
Given the relatively short distances between Earth and Mars, there is little doubt that material from each planet can be found on the other - in fact, we have found Martian rocks in the antarctic - likely due to its being "splashed" out of the planetary gravity well by comet, asteroid, or meteorite impact.
It is much easier to believe - if any of this material really does represent the presence of life - that  its source was actually Earth rather than Mars.
Of course, there is still little reason to believe that there is the evidence of life in those samples at this point.

Clearly, my skepticism on this subject should not be taken to imply that I doubt the existence of any extraterrestrial life. It simply means that we haven't really found any evidence in these experiments, any more than we have evidence of global warming in the carefully curated sub-sample of tree-ring data.
In much the same way, I know that the Earth has warmed since the depths of the Ice Age; I simply don't know that the global fleet of HUMMERs is uniquely to blame, and would never use such a paucity of evidence to claim it to be so.

How Dare They?

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not now, nor have I ever been, a stay-at-home Mom. Frankly, I'm not in the Potential-Mom half of the population anyway, so I'm able to comment on this whole brouhaha cum tempest in a teapot dome in a completely disinterested and abstract manner*.

So we hear over and over that the Republicans hate women. blah blah blah. Lefties can't say much else it seems.
Oh - wait a minute - Democrats hate women who don't dump their kids in some kind of day care operation so they can join the job market and make just barely enough to pay for the daycare and the gas or busfare or whatever that they need in order to get to work and then when they come home they're so exhausted that they expect their husbands (who apparently exist in some cases but not most from the way the statistics sound on the news) to actually do housework along with them while the kids do homework before they all collapse into bed after consuming hours of mind-numbing programming on television or their computers or tablets or whatever the device of choice might be in that household.

Isn't it obvious that these pundits and self-styled rulers (I thought we had a government of the people in this country, not rulers) don't want kids raised by families? Every policy coming out of DC seems calculated to make sure that kids are more and more dependent on the feds and less and less on their parents.
Ever read Brave New World by Huxley? All of this just sounds like we're on the way to a nation of Bokanovskified gammas, deltas, and epsilons being raised in the government creche to be productive cogs in society. For this we don't need education, we just need indoctrination, and that's more expensive because it costs money to distract kids from what's real long enough to fool them into believing the party line.

Makes my blood boil, I can tell you - worse than seeing some stuck up bureaucrat sitting on Dan Patch!
Hey, Feds, Leave Them Kids Alone!

* OK, I'll fess up - I have a mother, and I had a part in making one as well. That proves nothing or less than nothing, and I stand by my sentiments and thoughts above regardless of how this revelation might make them look!

More Mars-Related Deception

  1. New analysis of data from the Viking Mars mission from 1976 has been undertaken.
  2. Reports of the new results indicate that there was evidence of the presence of life on Mars.
  3. Three experiments were undertaken, with these results being from only one of them.
Clearly we've been "protected" from the news that life was discovered on Mars nearly forty (40) years ago. The question is, "Why?"

While Martian microbes might seem innocuous - especially compared to the possibility of actual intelligent, potentially belligerent life - the news of such a discovery ought surely to have been widely circulated.

Why were Earth's citizens not informed?
What nefarious purpose did (or does) this cover-up serve?
Why were these results still kept out of the most popular scientific journals?
From what do our governments (or "rulers" as they style themselves) think to protect us?

We'll report back here as we get more information.

The Man's A Tool - UPDATED

Updated 4/2/12 - see below

Now that the Obama campaign is in full swing - despite not having a particular Republican opponent yet - the president is letting his Vice Gaffer out without a short leash (or should it be a short bus?) to make policy proclamations that the Pres himself couldn't get away with and still have any hope of reelection but this fool can - and does - say whatever comes into his "mind" and gets away with it like he's your crazy and/or drunk uncle at a family reunion spouting his aliens are in the government telling us all what to do crap only this time he's the bizarre alien telling us what to do instead.

Now vice president Biden thinks we need a global tax because it's not enough that people get taxed by their own nation, they should be taxed by the one world government   League of Nations United Nations or whatever cabal or group he thinks is best these days.

I know sovereignty is hard to spell, Uncle Joe, but the concept isn't really that difficult, is it? I'm sure there must be someone in DC who knows what it means - please, try to get a clue, OK?

Good grief, what a tool.

Update:
Biden was speaking to a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, when he turned to praise the work of Richard M. Daley, the city’s former mayor of over 20 years.

“I never had an interest in being a mayor, ’cause that’s a real job. You have to produce,” Biden said, according to a White House pool report. “That’s why I was able to be a senator for 36 years.”

As noted above, good grief, what a tool.

I Like Pi

Raspberry Pi, that is.

I know I'm late with this - it's not remotely news anymore to anyone who's in the know, but if you haven't heard about the Raspberry Pi project over in Jolly Olde England, then you need to read up.
This is a project trying to get kids to learn how to code (that's how to program computers, folks, it's not like they're teaching them Morse Code or Semaphore or the Secret Handshake of the Freemasons or anything!) and it has resulted in the creation of a fully-functional computer in a package about the size of an Altoids case or a cigarette pack. It's pretty amazing - it runs a couple flavors of Linux, can put out 1080p HD TV video, and is an all around brilliant product as those guys over there in the UK say all the time - like Harry Potter and that red-haired kid in the movies and all the guys on the Guinness commercials and everything.
So one of the really cool things is that the computer comes with nothing ready for it - you're supposed to learn how to write programs to make it do whatever you want - but you'll be able to share your programs and get programs from other people all over the world using this little machine that only costs something like $35 (yes, that's really Thirty Five Dollars) for the whole shebang other than the external connections you'll need like a keyboard and mouse and your TV for a monitor since it has HD output built in for that.

So just take my advice and run over to the Raspberry Pi website to find out about it and then you should go ahead and order one and learn about coding instead of just being a user of other people's codes like most of the Excel jockeys I know who couldn't write a program or even a macro in Visual Basic to save their lives or analyze their data, but it's not that hard and you can get a real sense of accomplishment and admiration for the coders who put out all those applications you use every day to do your jobs and all that.
